Daddy Owen opens up on why he keeps his love life private after divorce

Veteran gospel singer Owen Mwatia, famously known as Daddy Owen, has explained why he chooses to keep his love life away from the public eye years after his divorce.

Speaking on the Lesson at 30 podcast hosted by Dr Ofweneke, the musician reflected on his experiences with marriage, describing it as a beautiful institution, adding that it is not a must but is something good.

“I have lived both; I have lived in marriage and outside marriage. Marriage is good; it is not a must, but it is something good to have because once you meet a beautiful person, you can make a very beautiful thing out of marriage,” Daddy Owen said.

“Marriage by itself is a very beautiful setup.”

Explaining why he has decided to keep his love life private, the singer said that he has learned that he is not good at handling his personal affairs in the public spotlight.

He noted that public scrutiny can make navigating relationships more challenging.

“Safe to say, whether I make the decision to give up or to do it again. I discovered one thing that I am very poor at is how to talk about it in public or expose it to the public,” he said.

According to the singer, the lessons he learned from his past relationship have shaped his current approach to love and dating.
